Hey everybody ... long time (too long) since my last post. So much life under the bridge ...
My last day of teaching is tomorrow (yeah, I'm a college professor!). Such a long year.
I'm looking forward to the summer, a sip of whisky now and then, a toast to Heath (of course) with a glass of "Old Rose" courtesy of the creative folks in the arts and crafts room.
I've thought a lot about Ledger's passing. I'm still very sad at his death, but, and I apologize for sounding selfish, but I really really wanted Ang Lee tand company to do a sequel. My God, don't we all need it? Isn't it burning in our desires? Don't we all see our own vision of how Ennis would end up truly happy and not alone? Doesn't he get to take Jack's ashes, somehow, back to the mountain?
... but of course that isn't possible now.
But what a gift we have! We all get to write this story in our own lives, in our hearts, and in our imaginations.
Who knows who'd we all be if Ennis and Jack weren't ever introduced to us. Gosh, aren't we lucky?
Thank you Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhall, Ang Lee, Gustavo Santaoalla ... I spelled that wrong and that's TERRIBLE! ... and all the cast of BbM ... for making our lives better.
Rest in Peace, Heath Ledger. If your body never knew how much you were appreciated, I ... we ... heartfeltly hope that your spirit does!
