Tribute Videos from members

In Loving Memory

Ravenus made this....tribute to Heath.
tissues will be needed.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ts2a26g5XkI

Remember - Josh Groban

I made this little video about Heath, tears were falling when I made it... :\'(

http://youtube.com/watch?v=I3wXnmwwYrw

I made a fanvid. I'm sorry this might not be in the exactly right spot, but to me, we all have our own tributes. Please, if you have a few minutes watch this. Thank you. God bless.

God bless you, Heath.  :\'(  ^f^

Here is the link to Daniel Day Lewis' beautiful tribute to our Heath:

Even though there are probably thousands already posted on youtube, I wanted to make a small tribute video of my own. Unfortunately I didn't have a lot of time, but here's my small effort:

I made another short tribute video, using quotes - not from members as you did - but from Heath's peers:

My heart aches and my tears could not stop. It hurt so much to make the video but it was more bearable when all our hearts are together.

Heath Ledger and you all have inspired me. I took the liberty to quote many of you and I hope you don't mind. Thank you.  :ghug:

Forum video tribute - 10 minutes

http://youtube.com/watch?v=7UpwlBGFK10

All these video tributes to Heath are amazing...i love them all.  I had an overwelming need to make one of my
own, here's the finished product -

Somehow this Poem keeps coming back to me;

Funeral Blues

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

W. H. Auden

To be an actor is to touch the boundries where we are most afraid to go. To be an actor is to push beyond the zone of comfort and show what we least want to see. Heath Ledger was able to do that and to touch our hearts and souls. He made the deepest and in the end the greatest sacrifice. Thank you friend, thank you. May you play with the angels now and be at peace.

Sleep in heavenly peace Heath
there is no sorrow, no pain, no suffering
there is eternal beauty and calm
You are forever young.

thoughts and prayers are with your family and loved ones

I must go home and have silence.  My surroundings appear pitch black for me right now.

Who knows the depths of sadness of the heart?

What can one make of it, except to recall the words of the Poet:

Come, said my soul,
Such verses for my body let us write, (for we are one),
That should i after death invisibly return,
Or, long, long hence, in other spheres,
There to some group of mates the chants resuming,
(tallying earth's soil, trees, winds, tumultuous waves,)
Ever with pleas'd smile i may keep on,
Ever and ever yet the verses owning--as, first, i here and now,
Signing for soul and body, set to them my name

When I heard the news
from the office jokester
that you died of drug overdose
I would not, could not believe it

I held back the urge
to google you
to find out for sure
Too afraid, to find the truth

Whatever the cause, your death
reminds me of someone else
not unlike the friend I miss so much
but also Marilyn Monroe, at the height of her career

Some may compare you to others, but to me
Marilyn and you are a pair of shining stars
breaking new ground where others see not
Being your own role model, when others see only the pretty face

She was smart as well as gorgeous
You have character and intelligence, as much as good looks
What ever the cause that took you from this earth
You can rest assured that your work, your legacy, will remain forever.

Candle in the Wind, it is just as appropriate for you, as it is for Marilyn:
[modified without permission]

Goodbye my good friend
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
They crawled out of the woodwork
And they whispered into your brain
They set you on the treadmill
And they made you change your game

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a fan
Your candle burned out far too soon
Your legend will be told

Loneliness was tough
The toughest role you ever played
Hollywood created a superstar
And pain was the price you paid
Even when you died
Oh the press still hounded you
All the papers had to say
Was that Heath committed suicide

Goodbye my good friend
From the man who loved you from afar
Who sees you as something as more than sexual
More than just a movie star

With love....

He Is Not Dead

I cannot say, and I will not say
That he is dead. He is just away.
With a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand,
He has wandered into an unknown land
And left us dreaming how very fair
It needs must be, since he lingers there.
And you - oh, you, who the wildest yearn
For an old-time step, and the glad return,
Think of him faring on, as dear
In the love of There as the love of Here.
Think of him still as the same. I say,
He is not dead - he is just away.

(James Whitcomb Riley)

Just found this on "afterelton.com". Shakespeare's sonnet No. 28 (written to a man):

How can I then return in happy plight,
That am debarre'd the benefit of rest?
When day's oppression is not eas'd by night,
But day by night and night by day oppress'd,
And each, though enemies to either's reign,
Do in consent shake hands to torture me,
The one by toil, the other to complain
How far I toil, still farther off from thee.
I tell the day, to please him thou art bright,
And dost him grace when clouds do blot the heaven:
So flatter I the swart-complexion'd night,
When sparkling stars twire not thou gild'st the even.
But day doth daily draw my sorrows longer,
And night doth nightly make grief's length seem stronger.

Rest in peace, 'Ennis'...

This poem was read by the rabbi who officiated at my mom's funeral  it gave me some comfort I hope it might offer all of us some at well

Do Not Stand by my Grave and Weep  by Mary Elizabeth Frye
An early version, printed by others on postcards:

    Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
    Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

IN LOVING MEMORY

Thanks for all you've done
I've missed you for so long
I can't believe you're gone
You still live in me
I feel you in the wind
You guide me constantly

I've never knew what it was to be alone, no
Cause you were always there for me
You were always there waiting
And ill come home and I miss your face so
Smiling down on me
I close my eyes to see

And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight cause it comforts me

I carry the things that remind me of you
In loving memory of
The one that was so true
Your were as kind as you could be
And even though you're gone
You still mean the world to me

I've never knew what it was to be alone, no
Cause you were always there for me
You were always there waiting
But now I come home and it's not the same, no
It feels empty and alone
I can't believe you're gone

And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight cause it comforts me

I'm glad he set you free from sorrow
I'll still love you more tomorrow
And you will be here with me still

And what you did you did with feeling
And You always found the meaning
And you always will
And you always will
And you always will

And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight cause it comforts me

Dear Brokies, my hugs are not enough but your words give comfort. Thank you for stopping by and expressing your thoughts. Together we will be strong.

 :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:

I am going to Broome Street in a few hours and pay respect to Heath with flowers, a button and a card from the forum

On the card, I wrote

"Dear Heath, anything interesting up in the heaven? We miss you."

I know you all will be with me.  :\'( :ghug: :ghug:

Ethan sent me this picture on my cellphone, he just took it front of Heath's flat :\'(

Dear Brokies,

This afternoon I had the privilege to go to the apartment and paid our tribute and respect to Mr. Heath Ledger. As soon as I got off the subway station a few blocks away, my heart was so aching and my tears could not stop. Every step was the hardest I had ever experienced in my life and my body was shaking. Until then when I laid the flowers, I was hit by the reality and realized what had happened.

Thank you for being with me and giving me the strength to do it on behalf of this most wonderful community. My eyes have been dried and then are wet again. I ask myself why we have to go through this? We mourn the death of Jack from the movie and now we mourn the death of Heath from the real life. For them, we are stronger and become better people in honoring Jack and Heath.

We are now even closer to Heath and forever grateful for what he has given us. :\'(  :ghug: :ghug: to everyone of you. My heart and thoughts are with you.

OMG!  I found this picture from Reuters on the web... do you remember the Toronto picture with Jake, Mississaugared & Tpe?

 :\'(

Crap, it's us!  :\'( :\'( :\'(

These are pictures of the tribute Ethan left from all us.  They were taken by press photographers and were posted all around the planet in newspapers, magazines & the web.

I already posted this one from Reuters when I found it last night

And there is this one published by Newsweek

Some lovely tributes on the BBC website

It is tragic that we have lost one of our nation's finest actors in the prime of his life. Heath Ledger's diverse and challenging roles will be remembered as some of the great performances by an Australian actor.
Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd

I adored him. I don't know how to compare his talent to others but he's touched me deeply as a talent and it's a great loss - losing him at any age would be a loss but it was pretty rough news. I was really shocked by it.
John Travolta

I had such great hope for him. He was just taking off and to lose his life at such a young age is a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
Mel Gibson

What a terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to Heath's family.
Nicole Kidman

I am shocked and very saddened by the news. I deeply respected Heath's work and always admired his continuing development as an artist. My thoughts are with his family and close friends.
Cate Blanchett

I think Tennyson got it right in the poem when he described someone as having died at a young age but burning the candles at both ends, and oh what a beautiful flame he made, that was Heath, what a beautiful flame he made and a great talent.

My heart goes out to everyone in his family and my family. The saddest thing is his daughter whom he just loved
dearly.

Larry Williams - ex-partner Michelle Williams' father

The studio is stunned and devastated by this tragic news. The entertainment community has lost an enormous talent. Heath was a brilliant actor and an exceptional person. Our hearts go out to his family and friends.
Warner Bros president Alan Horn and studio president Jeff Robinov

He made a decision about four years ago to stop being led by producers and managers and to forge his own way. He started working with the most interesting directors. He was so successful at breaking out of the teen idol image.
Neil Armfield, who directed Ledger in his last Australian film, Candy

I worked on the same film and I never met him - we were never on the same set. This is as much news to me as anybody and it affects me in the same way.
Morgan Freeman, co-star in Dark Knight

I went through a similar thing with River Phoenix in the fact that he was so young. It's a real tragedy when someone so talented dies because you don't know on the early part of their career what more they could offer us.
Director Rob Reiner

I don't believe that death is an ending.  That our loved ones live on, certainly within our hearts.

I wanted to share this poem by Dylan Thomas with you all.

And Death Shall Have No Dominion

And death shall have no dominion.
Dead mean naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon;
When their bones are picked clean and the clen bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot;
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.

And death shall have no dominion.
Under the windings of the sea
They lying long shall not die windily;
Twisting on racks when sinews give way,
Strapped to a wheel, yet they shall not break;
Faith in their hands shall snap in two,
And the unicorn evils run them through;
Split all ends up they shan't crack;
And death shall have no dominion.

And death shall have no dominion.
No more may gulls cry at their ears
Or waves break loud on the seashores;
Where blew a flower may a flower no more
Lift its head to the blows of the rain;
Through they be mad and dead as nails,
Heads of the characters hammer through daisies;
Break in the sun till the sun breaks down,
And death shall have no dominion.

From: http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Movies/01/23/remembering.ledger.irpt/

---------------------------------------------------------------

I-Reporters recall meeting kind, handsome Heath Ledger

(CNN) -- CNN.com reader Kristy O'Connor took a prenatal yoga class with Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams and says she was "in awe of his devotion and attention to Michelle." Reader Dena Michnowih says she came across Ledger in Brooklyn, New York, teaching his young daughter Matilda her right from her left, and was enchanted.

Heath Ledger is pictured with crew of the 2005 film "Lords of Dogtown" and members of the Zephyr skating team.

CNN.com asked readers to share their memories of Ledger, who was found dead in a New York apartment Tuesday, January 22. Famous for his roles in the films, "The Patriot" and "Lords of Dogtown," Ledger was widely acclaimed for his portrayal of the homosexual cowboy Enis del Mar in 2005's "Brokeback Mountain." CNN.com readers describe meeting Ledger in person, and call him humble and kind. Below are a selection of their responses, some of which have been edited for length and clarity.

Donal Logue of Los Angeles, California
I met Heath eight years ago while working on "The Patriot." He became a star while we were sequestered away in a small town in South Carolina based on the strength of the dailies going back to Los Angeles. Heath was a fantastically kind and sweet young man. He surrounded himself with his friends from Australia and never forgot any of us he ever worked with. I last saw him in Australia when he called my name on a Melbourne street and introduced me to Michelle, his (then) pregnant [girlfriend].

I have great memories of going for runs with him or watching a bootleg copy of a Parker and Stone's musical called "Cannibal! The Musical of the Donner Party Tragedy." Heath must have been in a place of great pain and sadness to be split from his wife and child. He was sensitive and unfairly victimized in his native country by the unfortunate Australian custom called the "tall poppy syndrome" in which an Australian, the second he or she achieves global success, is immediately and arbitrarily accused of losing all of their humanity. Not true. He was a sweet person, and less importantly, an unbelievaby talented actor. Maybe the best of his generation.

Dan Bova of Larchmont, New York
Once when I was driving in Brooklyn, I got a flat tire. As I was jacking up my car, this deep voice from behind me said, "Need a hand?" It was Heath Ledger. I couldn't believe it. He helped jack up my car and change the tire. He was really good with tools!

R. of Perth, Western Australia
I grew up with Heath around the speedway racing circuit. I remember the night he was a little boy and his Dad was racing speed cars at Claremont Speedway (my dad was in the race, too). His dad was coming 3rd then in the final corner, the two lead cars spun out and Heath's dad Kim took the lead and won the State Title race. Heath was standing a couple of rows in front of me with his mum and sister and they were all so excited, jumping up and down and cheering. He was about as happy as a little boy could be watching his dad become a champion. I remember that night because in the years that followed, I saw his parents marriage break up and it was like there was this moment in his childhood of pure joy that I witnessed.

Later Heath would pit crew for Graham Jones, and I crewed for my dad and brother. Heath and I were both the youngest on our crews so that meant our job was to take the fiberglass bonnets over to the hoses and wash the mud off after each race really dirty work but he managed to stay cleaner than the rest of us.

Crystal Davis of Toronto, Ontario
I met Heath in L.A. at a mall a year or so ago. I was staring at him working up the nerve to ask for an autograph. He saw me, started laughing and walked towards me. He said I was white as an "egg" and asked if he could do anything. I said, No thanks ... yes I forgot to ask for the autograph. He touched my shoulder and told me to take it easy and walked away. He looked back several times and smiled. What a great memory I have of him. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

Dena Michnowich of Glen Cove, New York
I was walking in the lower east side of Manhattan one day and I noticed a really cute man holding his little daughter on his shoulders. She looked just like him. He told her that they had to make a right and asked her to point them in the right direction, which she did. I soon realized that it was Heath Ledger and I got really excited. I was walking right up to them as they were waiting to cross the street. When I got close, I waved and he smiled at me. He was so handsome I got the chills. I could also sense that he had a very sweet spirit. It was a very special moment for me. I'm so sad to hear that he died.

Leanne Scorzoni of Staten Island, New York
I worked as a nanny for a number of years in Manhattan, and I ended up having a toddler class with my charge and Heath, Michelle and baby Matilda. The couple was so polite and laid back at first I didn't recognize who they were. They were genuinely interested in their child, her development, and treating the rest of us (including staff) with respect. He will be sorely missed.

Michael Williams of Perth, Western Australia
I met Heath Ledger many years ago while I was working at a local fast food outlet here in Perth Western Australia. He came through to order and I was amazed at how polite, kind and friendly he was. He stopped to sign autographs while he waited knowing that to the people asking him he was somewhat of a hero. He did all this with the great Australian attitude that he had and a smile on his face, he was one superstar that took stardom well and in his stride, I for one feel thankful that I have met this great person.

I send my deepest sympathy to his family and say to them that you do not mourn his passing alone; the people of Perth share your grief.

Tracy Kimball of Rock Hill, South Carolina
I met Heath Ledger in 1999 while he was filming "The Patriot" in South Carolina. I was a reporter for a daily newspaper there and he was at a press conference about the movie at Historic Brattonsville, a Revolutionary-era plantation. He was so very kind and was more than happy to sign my newspaper. The media was flocking around Mel Gibson, but seeing a new young and dashingly gorgeous guy standing off to himself, I approached him and asked for his autograph. He flashed that smile, grabbed my pen and used my back to sign the newspaper I was holding.

We had a conversation, but I don't remember it because I was so enamored. I had never heard of him before because the only American movie he had filmed was "Ten Things I Hate About You," which I had not yet seen. I went back to the paper where I worked and wrote a story about the new hot Aussie star that would surely become hugely successful in America. His death really saddens me. He was such a talented actor and a new dad. Having a child the same age as his daughter, it makes me even sadder to think of her missing her father.

Amanda Olmstead of Penticton, British Columbia
I met Heath when he was filming "Brokeback Mountain" in my hometown of Fort Macleod. He was a down to earth man with amazing talent. His portrayal of Ennis del Mar was life-changing for many of my friends. I am truly saddened by his death.

Kristy O'Connor of Sydney, Australia
My heart goes out to Heath's family and little Matilda, I met Heath one time at a prenatal yoga class in Sydney with Michelle and was in awe of his devotion and attention to her. He was a true gentleman and I'm sure an amazing father. To make assumptions as to how or why he died is to bring more pain to an already devastated family.

Adrian K. of Perth, Western Australia
I met Heath one night on the town in Perth. The one-degree of separation rule in Perth made him a friend of a friend. We had a brief and quiet chat. What struck me was his calm in the face of his monstrous burgeoning celebrity. With both of his feet planted firmly on the ground, he seemed to be facing the publicity with stoic resolve. Goodnight, Heath. You were a good bloke.

"A sad fan" in Chicago, Illinois
I was an extra in the movie "Dark Knight," which filmed in Chicago this past summer. I spend an entire weekend on set with Heath. He was rather quiet most of the time between takes, but seemed to be a nice, likeable guy. It was great to watch him work, as he was very committed to his craft. His death is a great loss.

Kelly Fishburne of West Palm Beach, Florida
I met Heath Ledger while working in Atlanta. We both were taking a CNN tour. He was silly, smiling all the time and we spoke about horses and riding lessons. He was also talking about the movie the Patriot he filmed with Mel Gibson. He had to do lots of riding. He was down to earth and so very talkative. Just a normal guy, hanging out. A real gentleman.

Jessi Lee of Central, South Carolina
I really enjoyed Heath's acting. His best movie was my favorite movie of 2005, "Lords Of Dogtown." Heath played the somewhat obnoxious Skip Engblom, but thinking of all the other actors who could have taken the roll, I don't think anyone could have done it better.

Even two of the original Zephyr shop boys themselves. Tony Alva & Stacy Peralta, said when Heath came in & did the voice he would use in the film, it was like hearing Skip from the past.

I'm gonna try to rest something...I'm here since this early morning and now it's 11:15 pm. I know in a so few hours I'll be back again; I doubt I can sleep. This day has been a painful nightmare. I wish I knew how to quit thinking about you my sweet baby Heath.  :\'(

I decided I hate the world.

I hate the fact that Brokeback Mountain took 7 years to make.
I hate that Jack Twist died.
I hate the fact that Brokeback Mountain didn't win best picture.
I hate that Heath didn't win best actor.
I hate that Australian Paparazzi attacked Heath with water guns.
I hate that Heath was forced to sell his home.
I hate that even after the efforts of Brokeback Mountain the Gay and Lesbian community is still being victimized.
I hate that Heath Ledger died.
I hate what his family and friends is going though.
I hate that Matilda will never meet her Dad.
I hate the paramedics couldn't revive him.
I hate knowing Heath died alone in his bed.
I hate the last image I will always have of Heath being chucked in the back of a car in a black morbid body bag.
I hate the 22nd of January
I hate waking up to the first day without Heath.
I hate crying.

But most of all I hate knowing I'll never see Heath in another film.
I hate a world without Heath.

I hate.

Everyone has a personal way of handling grief.  Some weep, some shout, some go grim and silent, and each reaction is valid and appropriate.

For me, I write.  It's how I handle most of the emotions that assault me in my life.  I write, between bouts of weeping and shouting.

So here is my method for venting, and I hope it does not offend anyone.  It's all I know how to do.

In Mourning

It was just another Tuesday,
And it was raining somewhere.
The clouds were dark and roiling,
And the coffee water, boiling.
Were you so forgotten there?

Did you stand there at the window?
Were there children in the rain?
Did you hear their playful song,
Rising bright and sweet and strong?
Were you overcome with pain?

The sun must be shining somewhere,
In this place where you are not.
All the golden promise lost,
Can we even know the cost?
Find the why, the how, the what?

While the night is full of wonder,
Liquid silver pools of light,
For each single one that fails,
A spark of primal brilliance pales,
Takes one candle from the night.

And we sit here in the silence,
In the place where you belong,
Speaking softly of good-byes,
Recalling tender sable eyes
And sweet laughter like a song.

Now the world is growing darker
And the night is growing cold,
And the empty silence lingers
Wrapping hearts with icy fingers.
As the funeral bell is tolled.

So the prince has left the stage;
Strangers watch him go and sigh.
And the world spins right along,
But there is no mourning song,
Save the one that weeps “Good-bye.”

Cynical21, your poems are always moving and touching, aiming straight at the core of your theme. No one can find offense at you. They may regret being touched, being moved, but that is the price of sublime beauty. Without pain, we can hardly learn to live.

Thank you for that last stanza. The prince has indeed left the stage. And I suspect, the world will pause a little, yet, to sigh, to mourn, the loss of a great talent, the like we may never see again.

A man of such sensitivity
yet strong in character
and gentle in all his grace

A prince among men
whose vision of the world unseen
shines a beacon for us to follow

A star is born in heaven
whose light will guide us
from here to eternity

I for one will always remember
the prince who played a rogue, a knight, a ranch hand
a patriot, an addict, a son, a father, a man

 :ghug:

I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear
Every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you

The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called resignation is confirmed desperation. From the desperate city you go into the desperate country, and have to console yourself with the bravery of minks and muskrats. A stereotyped but unconscious despair is concealed even under what are called the games and amusements of mankind. There is no play in them, for this comes after work. But it is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things...

I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life... to put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Thursday morning, and I still can't believe that he's gone.  One positive is that I have this place to go to, to be with people who are grieving just as much as I am.  No one in my family seems to understand how I'm feeling.  It's as though I've lost a close friend.  Never have I felt this way about a famous person's passing before - NEVER.  I'm just sick over this.

Anyway, I wrote this poem yesterday and posted it on my LiveJournal:

January 22, 2008

Tell me it's not happening
Tell me it's not real
Tell me I'm not feeling
This anguish that I feel.

Tell me you'll be coming back
And that I need not fear
Tell me you'll return to me
Please say you will, my dear.

The world is now, so suddenly,
A dark and lonely place
I cannot bear to think I'll
No longer see your face.

You shone your light upon us
A beautiful, sweet soul
You gave it all, and poured your heart
Into each and every role.

Now they say that you've gone
I can't believe that's true
For how are we to carry on
Without wonderful you?

Now your soul has flown away
But even as I cry
Within my heart, you will remain
So I'll not say goodbye.

Peace be with you, Mr. Ledger.

This was posted on the blog that Theresa set up - it's so beautiful I just had to repost it here. I hope Theresa doesn't mind.

Miss Me, But Let Me Go

Author Unknown

When I come to the end of the road,
and the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little—but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that was once shared.
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone.
It’s all a part of the master’s plan, a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know.
Bear your sorrow in good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.

Heath's life is a celebration of the finer qualities of the human spirit.

I am truly thankful for the time he shared with us!

LETTER TO HEATH

My Heath sweet eyes:
Do you know?I had hardly posted any pictures of you in the thread;my preferences went to Jake-and Jack-.But this doesn't mean that I didn't like you, that I didn't love you.All the contrary.Yeah,in the beginning people noticed how expressive Jake's eyes were;a coworker of mine,( this one who cried with me when I told him the news and who has toasted for you're now in a better place where you're able to find peace while he was seeing BBM) said that He´s got "eyes like a headlight and he tells everything with his look..."But it's not completely true; I've always realised the sweetness of your eyes...
These days I think I've gone over your role in BBM almost scene by scene. And I remember the glance you take to Jack/Jake immediately before he say "Sometimes I miss you so much I can't hardly stand it"; all the love and tenderness in the world is reflected in this glanceˇ Or when both of you descend from the mountain at the end of the summer and you are making jokes with his harmonica's sound; being as Ennis was a man of few words and no "I love yous" ,one more time your glance speaks volumes about your feelings...Or when you looked at Jack from the river, hardly a little spot on the mountain's high...You reflected yourself by your glance,in the end always sweet although sometimes wear in a "rough man" disguise.
As regards to your life off-screen,when Jake was given BAFTA award for his role in BBM,after his speech I saw how you clapped him fervently;your eyes seemed wet with emotion and looked at him with tenderness;how proud you seemed of your friend and of the effort both of you had done mentally and psychically. The same kind of look when you looked at Michelle, that reflected how in love you were with her,in the happy times when she loved you and you knew she was yours...The same look you had, much more still, when you looked at Matilda, your baby, who sooner or later will ask for her daddy and nobody will be already able to answer to her that He's working in a new movie...Yes,you had very sweet eyes, and maybe nobody has noticed how much love you had to give and how these eyes reflected this...
My grandmother said that when a beloved person is gone, she or he keeps on looking after us in another space;for this,I'm sure you'll keep on looking after your baby and Michelle, and looking at Jake with proud,and,maybe-only maybe-looking at all of us,who now are feeling a little helpless without your glance...It's difficult for me to write this, not only because I'm crying again;but also because it's not in my own language. But I do believe you'll understand it because it's written...no,not written...IT´S FELT WITH LOVE LANGUAGE.And this needs neither translation nor good grammar...
You bet,Heath, sweet eyes angel;I will always love you.I SWEAR.

We will be going to the apartment in Brooklyn first and then to SoHo. So probably around 3 pm. We will be taking all of you with us. Thank you for all your heartfelt messages.

If you can, please join us to light a candle.

I will be posting pictures from the tributes we left but I haven't uploaded them yet.

This is what was left in Brooklyn- Ethan already posted one set of candles and the posters he did.

This booklet contained posts from the vigil thread:

This candle was left and this pic was attached to it.

This was the booklet with thoughts from this thread which was left at Soho

I had two of the same candles but this picture was attached to it with the same words on the back:

Ethan sent me this picture he just took from Heath's flat, I also spoke with him & LuvJackNasty, they send hugs and love.  ^f^

Here is my candle for Heath.

My candle is lit (it's 3:44pm eastern time here in Jacksonville, Florida).

I wish I could post a photo:

It's a tall white pillar candle, and with it is the cream-white cowboy hat I got while in Wyoming last winter, and the Wyoming State Flower, The Indian Paintbrush (bright red with soft, bud-like fuzzy petals).

I've lit my candle too..........

This is my candle :\'(

I just lit my candle for Heath.
I think it will take some time for me to recover from this tragedy...can't stop cryin'  :\'(

Miss you so much Heath...

This is mine for Heath

A bit late, but here is my candle:

wanted to share my candle.. many thanks to Ethan and Michelle <3

REMEMBER ME ... by James Horner/Cynthia Weil

Remember:
I will still be here
As long as you hold me
In your memory

Remember:
When your dreams have ended
Time can be transcended
Just remember me

I am the one star
That keeps burning so brightly
It is the last light
To fade into the rising sun
I'm with you whenever
You tell my story
For I am all I've done

Remember:
I will still be here
As long as you hold me
In your memory
Remember me…

I am that one voice
In the cold wind that whispers
And if you listen
You'll hear me call across the sky

As long as I still can
Reach out and touch you
Then I will never die

Remember:
I'll never leave you
If you will only
Remember me…

Remember:
I will still be here
As long as you hold me
In your memory

Remember:
When your dreams have ended
Time can be transcended
I live forever

Remember me
Remember me
Remember…
Me…

When something potentially more than coincadental hits the conscience of someone with a heart it's not always easy to dissipate the fog that clouds the same mind, and it helps when someone outside of the equation knows that it's not your responsibility nor burden to carry around. It's someone like me, also with a similar heart, yet not named Tony, that should tell you that you need to let it go. Extract the beautiful reminder of what a beautiful man Heath was and was aimed to always be, and let the rest go. If it rushes over you like rain, then it happened right. If you damn near cry your eyes out, it happened the way it was supposed to.
What we have is knowing a man with the power to grip others' hearts is undeniably in a better place. Yes it takes time for that to sink in, but then we are not robots. Accepting passages doesn't always happen with a 'pink' or click. But we will get it because not only does everything happen for a reason, but when love is involved it will eventually set in to have done no wrong. We who love(d) Heath, we with our flowers, tears, notes and hearts, made sure that his transition was soft, about as soft as the wings of an angel; We remember him like this for he gave to us a sense that the earth wasn't as wicked as it otherwise seems to be.
Tony, we're all in this together, trust that.  :ghug:
God bless Heath and the part of his heart that he left us with.

22.01.2008

In the Soho
Twenty-eight years younger
Thee ere thy birth, more love
And yet now comes thy reaper
Thee send to ye
From the land of the free
Then spoke to ye of thy heart and of human life
Just one moment enough to frost thy veins
With courteous care
Then be done, alone thy cast beneath
The night with mighty grace
As all stood firmed upon this land
As cold thy flesh I sleep
Full moon winding thy path
The fairest far where losses be gone
And lesser fondness upon silence
Awaken the dawning of thy tongue
As thee begged to let thou live
For no wrongs ye behold to this day
In what ye see
As wondrous but nameless charm
A breath itself thou speak
O thee of loneliness
In prayer sad and long
I beg answer thee not
For this life thou harvest is indeed its seed
To the morrows of deeds
That has yet to touch our hearts
Nobler desires and tastes of joy
For one more moment do let ye stay and be
Upon this earth before the sun
In rest thee keep
For Love in all they seek
And in ye magic they see

Joeseph
