I hope there will be no delays.

But even with delays, I am sure that it would be worth the wait!

You bet!

I can't wait to hear the sheep singing <^(

More seriously, I am curious to see how they manage to deal with all the silences and unsaid parts of BBM.

And after that,he will say he's an angel,huh? >:D :i
Ennis’s eyes gone bright with shock, mouth opening then closing again. “Love?” Ennis said finally, voice strangling in his throat.

Jack smiled sad. “Yeah, Ennis. Love.” Leaned forward and kissed Ennis’s temple, whispered, “What’d you think it was, all this time?”

Yay - Madrid in 2013. Something to look forward to. Just hope that the production will smooth and be on schedule.

Yes, I think that THAT would be the greatest enemy.  WE should expect/anticipate delays.  But I hope they will inevitably push through -- with or without a delay!

OK Tammy, rub it in. By the way I used to live in Madrid when I was little. Would be interesting to see what happened to that apartment complex.

;D ;D ;D ;D Sorry Frederic!!  ^f^  You US brokies do the same to me when you have those wonderful meetings at the other side of the pond....  ;) ;D

Oh, Madrid has changed A LOT!!! You won't believe it. It's not the same city anymore. It's huge (of course not as huge as US cities.... ::)  ;D ), with lots of green places, very clean, and very modern. The underground is the second best in Europe, and the streets are big avenues.

Hope it gets better and better so you all brokies like it when you come to see BBM.  ^f^

I know this is off topic but I used to live in Madrid and Solle in Mallorca. My parents also had an apartment in Valencia and Zaragoza but this was  years and years ago (Back when Franco was still alive).

You must be sure to come to a Madrid meeting then!  It would be like a homecoming.  :)

so... we're still on i guess......  O0

from the
guardian.co.uk, Thursday 31 March 2011 Charles Wuorinen

One of the composers who has been well served by Naxos's American Classics series is Charles Wuorinen, even before he made headlines with the announcement that he was to write an opera based on Annie Proulx's short story Brokeback Mountain, due for performance in two years' time.
Born in 1938, Wuorinen has long been a hugely respected figure in American music. It's his chamber music, though, that shows his dense, busy language at its most powerful, and the two major works here, his first String Quartet of 1971 and the second Piano Quintet completed three years ago, show its expressive range and the formal ingenuity with which Wuorinen deploys it.

City Opera Vancouver secures rights to Brokeback Mountain chamber opera world premiere

Show me a good love story and I’ll show you a good opera—which is why this news comes as a particular thrill: City Opera Vancouver has secured the rights to the chamber music version of Brokeback Mountain, the opera.

Composer Charles Wuorinen has signed a Letter of Intent with COV, agreeing that he will create a chamber version of the work he’s currently developing, with a libretto by the original Brokeback Mountain author, Annie Proulx.
