Ennis and Jack and Other Woman
« on: Apr 14, 2006, 11:35 AM »
Little observation time :)

I was just thinking about something.  You notice, after the divorce, I mean, Ennis does not go looking for women. As if to say he's perfectly content being alone, except for Jack. Almost as if he really could be content with just his get togethers with Jack.

But, Jack on the other hand, is having an affair with LaShawn, he's seeks out other women.

Yes, Ennis hooks up with Cassie and "puts the blocks to" her as he puts it. But he doesn't seek it out.

Is this because he really only wants Jack, and even though in his world it will never be him and Jack exclusively?

I just started to wonder about this a few minutes ago, anyone else have anything on this?

I think you could safely bet your very last dollar/Euro that Jack is not after LaShawn.  If anything he is after Randall.

As for Ennis, well, it didn't work once and why take the chance Cassie will find out about Jack also.

Tell you what...truth is, sometimes I miss you so much I can hardly stand it...

Patriot, that's an excellent observation, you just made me think a little harder.  Ennis doesn't want to hide a secret from anymore women, so why take the chance of being in aggressor in finding another woman? Makes perfect sense. Yeah, also about LaShawn, it isn't her he is wanting to get closer to, it's Randall, and all to fill the void of Ennis not being around. Wow, great way of looking at it now!!

that is fo sure not lashawn!!!! is randall he flirt so hard with Jack on the ball
There was some open space between what he knew and what he tried to believe, but nothing could be done about it, and if you can't fix it you've got to stand it.

Watching that scene again tonight, I notice the glances now. I notice Randall's suggestion of going to the cabin with Jack. I watch Jack when Randall does this and you really do see the regret in his eye of that not being with Ennis. And I do come to the conclusion, Randall was flirting himself and Jack was interested in Randall :)
