The Writers' Guild gave it Best Adapted Screenplay; the Producers' Guild gave it Best Production; and the Directors' Guild gave it Best Director.  Those alone make BBM the odds-on favorite for Best Movie, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.

I think Director and Screenplay are a lock, if you compare BBM to the competition, and their performances at prior awards.  Ang Lee, Diana Ossana, and Larry McMurtry no longer even go to the shows.  They just drop off postage-paid boxes with a note requesting "Please send my trophy to..."    ;D   (That's a joke.)

Best Picture is a little more of a toss-up, but if the Academy gives the directing and screenwriting Oscars to BBM (99% chance for Ang, 90% chance for Diana and Larry), along with nominating its three principle actors, its cinematographer, and its composer, how in the heck can they not recognize it for being the best picture?   "Yeah, it's got the best direction, the best script, and an outstanding cast and crew, but "Munich" is a better movie."    ???

I'm betting 3 Oscars.  The actors have not done as well among their peers, and though I would DEFINITELY like to see Heath, and especially Michelle, honored for their amazing performances, fans don't vote for academy awards, so.....

Predictions are always a slippery slope and it’s very early in the Oscar race, so I may update this list before March 5th.

Nominated Categories:

Best Picture
Best Director
Best Actor
Best Supporting Actor
Best Supporting Actress
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Original Score
Best Cinematography

My predictions to Win:

Best Picture
Best Director
Best Supporting Actress
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Original Score

The online polls at MSNBC and Yahoo are fun but about as scientifically accurate as the predictions made on this board.
