I just listened to the book (gads that sounds strange to say, listening to a book, alone) last night.  I would not recommend it to anyone who has not seen the movie.  The tone of the reader changes the movie a bit.  Interesting how he and I agree in some spots though.  He read it just as I did.

Jason, sorry buddy I am so late in answering this message. I don't usually come here.

I downloaded a free program called AudibleManager and then if I remember correctly when I clicked to download the .pl file the manager took over and downloaded it.  But, that part could be incorrect as I downloaded it some time ago.  All I can really remember that I had to have AudibleManager.

Hope this helps. Sorry my memory fails me.

This is "free"  :)- until you have spent 20 min. giving all your details, then all at once it costs several $ via a credit card number  :\'(.

I don't trust it!  >:D

Is this the story as read by Campbell Scott? that is the one I have, I believe it was recorded propr to the release of the movie, so it differes in tone somewhat, but it is still  powerful. Whenever I have an hour or so drive, I will pop it in and imagine I am driving thru Wyoming.

Free? or only free for members??

It was so called free. I gave all my details as asked, so I was a member. Then when I got back to the product I wanted it suddenly cost several dollars. If I have known that form the outset I may well have bought it, I buy on-line a lot from Amazon, but such misleading selling practices put me right off it.

I could listen to it over and over, Love it.

I've had this for about five years now, burned it onto CD and still listen to it when I'm on long car trips. I've listened to it so much, that now whenever I hear Campbell Scott, (who reads the story and also does many other narrations for the likes of PBS), when I hear his voice, at first I think it's Ennis speaking. He does a great job with his accents, inflections, etc.
