DVD Release - UK
« on: Mar 15, 2006, 04:19 PM »
Hi peeps,

So as you all know crazy Froggy lives on her big pond, aka Britain!

Anyway I preselect BBM on my DVD Rental collection, and it says 17th of April...

But then I go to Amazon, and other web sites that sell DVDs on the net, and it says that BBM will be for sale on April 24th ???

Anyone else know about this?

HMV has added the DVD to pre-order, too. April 24th, and if you are eligible for free UK delivery it is 1£ cheaper than play for the time being.
"I loved it. Shocking. Surprising. The guy who financed my movie did that too. He's a very mild mannered chap from Minnesota and we'd just screened the latest cut of my film and he asked if I wanted to see it. I was thinking, 'OK, this really square, straight guy,' and he showed me this movie. It's amazing.

"They're really good those boys and they did a great job. It's very brave of them."

Hi peeps, amazon.co.uk let's you pre-order BBM for £11!

I have just placed my order...the date is 24th of April, but they say they will dispatch it as soon as they get it from the retailers.

The features seem to be the same as the american DVD:

DVD Features:
•    Special Feature Information:
        °    On Being A Cowboy
        °    Directing From The Heart Ang Lee From Script To Screen Interviews With Larry McMurtry And Diana Ossana
        °    Sharing The Story The Making Of Brokeback Mountain

Special Features

    * On Being A Cowboy
    * Directing From The Heart: Ang Lee
    * From Script To Screen: Interviews With Larry McMurtry & Diana Ossana
    * Sharing The Story: The Making Of Brokeback Mountain
    * Widescreen 1.85:1 Anamorphic
    * Dolby Digital 5.1 / Dolby Digital DTS 5.1 / Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo
    * Languages - English
    * Subtitles - English
    * Region 2 / PAL / Colour
    * Running Time 134 Minutes

Yet, I can still get the DVD to rent by the 17th!!!!

Just ordered my copy from amazon.co.uk too!

I've only seen my screener copy twice, so am looking forward to seeing a good quality version of the movie, as well as the extras...

Just pre-ordered myself a copy from Amazon!!!!!!!!!!! Realized I wouldn't survive without untill July when the Swedish version will be released... and since I know every quote and word of this story + film, I don't need a crappy translation made by some stupid person who makes it wrong anyway... ahh can't wait untill the 24th April............ ;D ;D ;D ;D

The extras are very meagre. The LOGO special available to see on youtube (and someone already put this on a DVD for me) and the other things only last about 20 minutes in total.

Not exactly spoiling us!

Booooo - amazon.co.uk is still saying that the delivery estimate for my DVD is 27th - 29th April >:(

Wish I'd paid the extra £1 and ordered from play.com now.

Getting so close now......we can almost taste it!   ;)

Saw a gorgeous ad for the DVD the other day.......it was a full page colour ad with "Proudly own it on DVD" written across the top.  Wanted to find the person who wrote that tag line and kiss them!

Then it had the pic of the DVD, and underneath "Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal give heartfelt and emotionally charged performances".

Ahhhh, never a truer word spoken!

I just feel sorry for those people who will see the DVD in the shops and walk on by - never to have had BBM in their lives.  :(

The last DVD I pre-ordered was from sendit.com. It arrived about a week after the release date. People here said that amazon.co.uk was quicker, so I ordered BBM from them. But my order status says delivery 24-25th... :-\
