Some Like it Hot was maybe good but in the 100 best ever list?  Same for Tootsie.  Good movies but... shut up cham! :-X

Some of the films do deserve to be there.

I do like BLADE RUNNER< for instance, but I am actually surprised it made the cut!

I suspect that they deliberately didn't include some films because it is still too soon to tell the impact in the long run.  Not that you need to be  a prophet to know that BBM will last.

Let's give them another 10 years to correct their mistake.  ;)

The most recent film on the list is LOTR, and that's--what?--six years old.  Brokeback will be on the next list, even if it does take ten years.  In the meantime, AFI will probably post another list of movie catch phrases, and there's plenty to pick from in BBM for that!

 &*&

OMG that is crazy....all of those movies on there, and no one could recognize BBM???

Don't get me wrong, there are movies on there that are in my favorites, but in no way do they compare to BBM.

For anyone who's interested, the American Film Institute is doing another list.  This time they provide a list of 500 movies slotted into ten different categories and ask for votes.  Voting is done by mail.  The only category that might possibly be suitable for BBM is "western," and it didn't make the cut.  However, you are allowed to write in titles as well.  "The Last Picture Show" made the list--why not BBM?

for the ballot.

Why is there a category for Courtroom Drama and not Drama.  The categories are clearly not inclusive enough.  Is this intentional?

Thanks, afhickman!
